Blue/White Wide-Bottom Mug with Iron Designs

Handmade white mug with nuka-type glaze and iron oxide accents.

Holds approximately 12-14 oz liquid. This stoneware mug is wheel thrown and reduction-fired to cone 10. Iron accents are added by mixing iron oxide with wax resist and painting on bisqueware before glaze is applied. The piece is then dipped in glaze, which will resist the areas that have been covered with the iron-wax mixture. Water-tight and dishwasher safe. Because there is iron used for decoration, these mugs are not microwave safe. These photos show a general style. Due to the handmade nature of my work, each piece will have some variation in height, handle and cup size, and design.
